Norwegian Coastal Voyage

The challenge - was to reduce the booking time, improve customer service and be flexible to aid future growth.

The solution - this project involved developing a new reservation management system and data warehouse facility for this niche cruise operator. The project was based on smart client n tier architecture and the booking system was designed to interface with a number of external systems such as credit card processing and a central cabin availability system in Norway.

The booking system saved 175 salesman days, reduced resources required, reduced booking time from 45 to 10 minutes. Previously 4/5 reports and time consuming number crunching in spreadsheets to review business performance.

Web based Airline company - we developed a suite of components for a booking system. The components provided the front end with functionality to query the Central Reservation System for information on fares and availability of flights and flight booking using a structured message interface.

Worldwide Travel Global Distribution System(GDS) - a project to integrate previously developed systems in London and New York with a GDS used by travel agents worldwide, facilitating increased exposure and increased business without increased workload for reservations staff. The GDS integrates using XML messages to request availability and make bookings, with the tour operator system handling ticketing, itineraries and so on alongside direct bookings.

International Travel Tour Operator - A business intelligence project to develop OLAP cubes using MS Analysis services, viewed using Proclarity, to allow the client to analyse their business in a flexible and powerful manner. Dashboards were developed to provide regular, consistent views across the business. Training was provided to users in order to maximise the return on investment.
